174. Inspiring Stories

As the dawn of 2024 breaks, Brother Nic and the ever-present Holy Spirit, invite you on a transformative spiritual voyage on the Called by God podcast. We're setting the stage for an inspiring year ahead with the personal, powerful tales of divine grace that have profoundly touched our community. We're not just recounting miracles; we're living them through the voices of those who've experienced God's call in astonishing ways. Imagine witnessing a momentous, life-changing event on a basketball court or stumbling upon a church during the most isolating times. These narratives are not just stories; they are proof of the immeasurable ways God moves in our lives.

United by faith and a sense of divine purpose, we celebrate the incredible leap of a listener who, without formal qualifications, rose to the role of a QC inspector, led by prayer and providence. Through their compelling accounts, Ben, Kenny, and many others illustrate the strength and camaraderie found in our fellowship, affirming our devotion to navigating life's trials with scriptural insight. So, join us as we affirm our spiritual aspirations for the year, share in the testimonies that bind us, and eagerly await the wonders that God has in store. Together, let's embark on this year with conviction, embracing the spiritual goals that guide our path, and exalting God in all our pursuits.

Speaker 1:

Welcome to the Call by God podcast with Adne Godin and myself, nixon Sylvain. This show is about dialogues of biblical characters and testimonies of Christians who submitted to the will of God. Each week, we bring on one guest so that they can share their story of how they were called by God. I hope this show inspires you. Enjoy. Hello and welcome world to the Call by God podcast. I'm yours truly brother, nick, and I'm here with the Holy Spirit, and Adne is here in the spirit of God, and I'm just so thankful to just to see another year. So, happy new year. Listeners and supporters, we want to thank you wholeheartedly from the Call by God podcast team for supporting us throughout the whole year of 2023. And this year we plan on doing some greater things in 2024. So we really want to congratulate and celebrate and welcome the whole new year in. Whenever we think about a new year, we think about new beginning, we think about new things, and I'm not a big believer in New Year's resolution. I believe in the slogan what Nike says just do it. So if you got any goals that you want to achieve this year, you know first. As far as for me, I first start off with spiritual goals and I talk about the other own personal goals, personal development, any career goals but the most important goals that you could I would say you should focus on this year should be spiritual goals. The other goals are okay, but the most important, I would say, by far is spiritual goals. So I know a lot has happened in 2023. Obviously, some people have some highs and some people have some lows, and I know whenever we're entering to a new year, people go into it and say you know, I'm not going to do the same things that I did in 2023. And my whole prayer and trust that you acknowledge those same words that you utter even to yourself just do better and be better. But we want to do something different. Today we have a total of nine dynamic testimonies from listeners, supporters and even those who stumbled upon our podcast, and I was sitting back and I was listening to these testimonies that people record on our platform because it's just a simple click. We have people go on our website, wwwcallbygodpodcast, and they clicked on the microphone icon and they left their testimonies. Now, this is something that I did request for people to do, but there's also some others that stumbled upon it and they left their testimonies and I'm always intrigued of how God is working in people's life, because I believe that one person's story could be an encouragement to another and I'm a strong believer in that and stay tuned, because this year I do intend to come up with my God-given story of how God has called me from darkness and brought me to his marvelous life. So I would encourage you to just sit back and relax and enjoy these nine I would say nine powerful, powerful, god-given testimonies. Some of these testimonies not all of them testimonies, but there's some of them are just more so encouragement, or encouragement to myself and Adne about the things that we're doing on this platform. So I want to thank, first of all, our Lord and our Savior, jesus Christ, for giving Adne and I the strength and afforditude to persevere with this wonderful platform, and I also want to thank you guys. It's the listeners, it's the supporters, it's my brothers and sisters in Christ that pat me on the back and just tell me to keep on going, because it's a source of encouragement for them. Although I'm not looking for any accolades, because I'm not really doing this to become rich, I'm doing this simply because I have a passion for people to know Jesus and for people to be saved. So sit back, relax and enjoy the testimonies and remember may God be the glory this year and everything that you could think upon. Just do it, like I would say what Nike would say just do it, be blessed.

Speaker 2:

Man. I must say God has truly been good to me, going on 10 years now actually a little over 10 years. December 3rd 2013. I was at the basketball court like I will usually do, just shooting some hoops, run up and down the court and the next thing I know, maybe two or three days later, I finally realized that I'm laying in a hospital bed at 21 years old, having no idea what happened to me, and it was a crazy experience because I had never been in the hospital before and it was an experience that I didn't even remember. As far as what happened to me, but come to find out, what everyone told me is that I had went into cardiac arrest while playing basketball and my heart was stopped for, I believe, 13 minutes. And there was a young man at the court who was trained to be a firefighter and he's now a firefighter here in Florida and he was able to provide CPR until the ambulance came and until the paramedics used that defibrillator twice to bring me back. And since then I graduated with my undergraduate degree, I graduated with my law degree and I'm now a lawyer and have been a lawyer going on three years now and I really feel like I'm still here because God has a purpose for my life and I'm just so grateful for all the blessings that God has bestowed upon me my friends, my family. I'm grateful to still be here, leaving my impact on the world, and I continue to do that and I'm going to continue to praise God, I'm going to continue to thank him for how he's blessed me, because I know I'm here for a reason, and of course, there's been many other ways that God has blessed me, but that's just the main one that sticks out. I could go on for hours, but that's the main one that sticks out to me.

Speaker 3:

What God has brought me through in traveling this far by face. During the pandemic, it was a time in my life where my main focus wasn't on pleasing God, but it's also when I discovered Hope Church of Christ. It was back in 2020. The more I watched the ministry, the more I just wanted to be a part of a firm foundation and great leadership. So it was June 2022. I decided, along with my mother, to step out on faith by taking this journey to come to Florida with no job, no home, not knowing what the outcome would be, and I had to really learn what walking my faith, and not by sight, truly meant. It wasn't an easy journey. We went from hotel to hotel, but what God showed me and helped me realize that, even though my journey seemed hard, it definitely wasn't as hard as what I saw other. I witnessed other people enduring and suffering through people sleeping outside on the ground during the rain, heat sleeping on the benches and all types of wet weather. It just made me realize that I really didn't have any problems at all and there was really no reason for me to complain as we went through that journey. But a Scripture that really kept me going and that Kept me close with God was Luke 137, a testimonial scripture, for nothing will be impossible with God. It really kept good. I'm grateful, in the mercy of God. Thank you, jesus.

Speaker 4:

Hi, I'm Jen Blamey, founder and CEO of change for life. In 1986, at age nine, I lost my mom to depression and suicide. In 1999, at age 23, I had a failed marriage. In 2008, at age 32, I had nearly a failed second marriage, saved by God's grace. In 2020, at the age of 44, we had the pandemic, lockdown type family quarters. And in 2021, at age 45, I was diagnosed with chronic illness. Through all this, I was grateful to have my faith, but I found it wasn't enough to keep my mind peaceful. The pandemic alone threw me into a chaotic mind, stress like never before, pressure to work, pressure to parent and and frankly, and are always on culture or the uncertainty of it all. I wasn't sure how to cope. Even with my faith and I'm sure everybody can relate to this, you know, even with people with strong faith, I consider myself having strong faith I Realized I needed help. I had been through counseling and I knew that I wasn't, that that wasn't gonna be the solution. I knew how to pray. That wasn't enough. I Realized I needed something that was gonna help me on a moment by moment basis and that was gonna help keep my sanity and my relationships with my family, my friends, my colleagues, my clients. I just I needed something that was gonna give me breakthrough and, by God's grace, I found a practical method to combat my stress, improve my focus and my resilience and Thankfully I had a mentor in a community to help me stay accountable. I transformed from anxious to calm, reactive to responsive, crazy mama to well, a little less crazy, and Also helped me manage my pain from chronic illness. Today I'm called by God to and have found a new piece for myself and I want to teach others about it to have hey family, this is the curry I'm calling.

Speaker 5:

Check it in with my 2023 year testimonial. I'm grateful to be alive with my family and, you know, the people that we have still here are able to breathe and walk and talk, move our hands. So I'm definitely grateful and I Pray that everyone else has a great year for 2024. Let's continue to strive and persevere to build up the kingdom of God, our heavenly father. Do our Lord and Savior, jesus Christ greetings.

Speaker 6:

This is Brother Raymond, ghost of junior. I Am just stopping by to show my great appreciation For Nixon and Adney on the phenomenal job that they have been doing with the call by God podcast and what a journey it has been thus far and the success that they have experienced, and not only Conducting a very well put together production, but also the content in which they bring. I have had the small honor of being on a couple of these episodes and it's always my pleasure to do so, but I just want to show my gratitude and Thankfulness for their hard work and their persistence and that God will continue to bless their hands as they do something that I believe is Truly unique. They feature your everyday People that are in our grocery stores and that are helping us with customer service and changing our oil and and even serving in higher capacities of service, who are Christians who have Forged their way through, trying to get closer to God and bring others closer to them. I want to Extend, you know, not only a shout out to everybody who has been a part of this podcast, but also highlighting the fact that it is important that you need not be a celebrity status to have something of substance to contribute to the world that there are everyday people that are following in their best efforts God and to love Jesus and to extend and shine that light upon everyone that is around them. So with that, I want to again thank them for their hard work, and may God bless them with many more episodes and years to come.

Speaker 7:

I wanted to work in the back with them. I was doing security at the time for a security company. I always wanted to work in the back, never thought I could, you know, because I didn't have that degree or that high level of that. The people you know and the facility or the job recommended, excuse me. So one day God went to work for me. You know I was praying and praying and praying for a better job and, lord, I need more money for my kids and that the next thing I know, god had people in that facility working for me, for me to get this job that I never thought I could get, in the back as a inspector, a QC inspector. So I was very, very like, happy, but I don't know if I'm gonna get it like. But I kept my faith. I said Lord, let your will be done. Whatever is in your will, it's gonna be done. If it's for me, it's for me. You know, without a degree, without any educational background of that sort. And and the people in the facility you had the reception as you had, the lady in the back of QC who was working by herself, who needed that help back there and wanted me to apply. But I never thought that by me applying they would give me the job. But you know, I went on ahead and did it. I didn't do it.

Speaker 8:

I just want to say that the call by God podcast is one of the greatest broadcasts that I've ever seen on social media. My name is Ben, and my testimony is that I recognize Christ when I was a teenager and continue following him until present day. And call by God podcast allowed me to share my testimony of how I came to Christ and watching this podcast and listening to it on social media and even on the website, and hearing people's testimonies about how they came to Christ and sometimes even real topics and issues that may be facing some of us, brothers and sisters, as we go through our day-to-day and walk with Christ. I just want to thank thank my God podcast for everything that they've done until present day and what they will continue to do in the future. The hosts are great. It feels real, everybody's always talking about relevant issues and at least backing it up with scripture, and I think that's the best part about it. So every time I go through my social media feed and I see it, or I visit the website to listen to a podcast about a certain issue or a certain person who've been called to Christ and seeing how they walk through their lives, you get a different perspective on. Well, I'm not in this alone and there are others out there who, as they go through their day-to-day and walk with Christ, this is how they came to Christ, this is how they walk with Christ, this is how they deal with issues with Christ, this is how they mature in Christ and I think that's the best part about this podcast. So I want to thank thank my call by God podcast and I want to thank the host. I want to thank the issues that are always talked about. I want to think about the scriptures that are always reminding us to continue our walk with God and keep up the good work this is brother Kenny Matthews.

Speaker 9:

I'm giving my testimony of how God called by God podcast affected my life and in my walk with the Lord. I would introduce by called by God, brother Nick, through sister Henry brother and sister Henry Smith. They told me about, uh to told me to listen to a guy named Nick, so they me testimony.

Speaker 10:

I first want to start off saying that I love the call by God podcast. Sometimes I will listen to the sermons while driving, or like driving to work or go into the gym and by hearing people testimonies and how they overcome their hardest challenge or traumatic events and how God would like intervene in their life and become the warriors that they are, inspire me to be strong and try to connect more with God. So it's really just there's not a word to say it, but it's just great.

Speaker 1:
