Speaker 1:

When the ark was built, the people, everywhere the people went, they had the ark with them. The ark represented the presence of God being with them, right? But when David said he wanted to build the temple and God said are you the one to build the temple? Your hands is filthy, like you, you, you shed blood. You can't build nothing for me, but your son, solomon, will do it. When Solomon did it, what they did was they put him in the, the, the ark in the temple, and that's where the ark stays. So where is the presence of God with the people? It's in the temple. In their minds, they always had to go back in order to be in God's presence. Let's fast forward to Jesus's time. Here. Jesus comes down on earth.

Speaker 2:

Welcome to the call by God podcast with Adne Godet and myself, nixon Sylvain. This show is about dialogues of biblical characters and testimonies of Christians who submitted to the will of God. Each week we bring on one guest so that they can share their story of how they were called by God. I hope this show inspires you. Enjoy. Hello and welcome world to the call by God podcast. I'm yours truly, brother, nick, and I'm here with sister Adne. Sister Adne, how you doing on this blessed day?

Speaker 1:

I am wonderful, brother Nick. I have some time off from work that I really needed to. I was supposed to at least really be in Washington DC, but they changed the collective and I said you know what, god? I'm just going to go ahead and take this time and just sit in your presence and read your word and go a little deeper with you, because my desire, my goal, is to not just read the Bible but study the Bible and allow the Bible to speak to me. There's some revelations that the Lord has been given, and I know people are uncomfortable with the word revelation, so there are some things the Lord has been showing me and I'm so appreciative of it. Number one. Number two I know everyone's waiting for the book, so I'm taking this time as well to do some research on one specific chapter that I was stuck on. It was a very hard chapter for me to write, so I'm doing that research right now and preparing to finish the book. And when God tells me, okay, baby girl, it's time for us to launch everything. Because what I'm learning to tell people is, when God tells me to launch, I launch. I'm not putting no dates in front of anyone, because this is his plan. This is his thing, this is. I'm just a vessel, so I just wanted to put that out there and just knowing that when you have a calling on your life, sometimes you just have to take a step back so the visionary could pour the vision inside of you, because God is the greatest visionary we have. So how are you doing?

Speaker 2:

Because I know I just set a whole map for you, I'm, I'm, I am great, I'm blessed, I'm blessed, I'm blessed, I'm blessed. I can't say this enough. I know we've been doing this podcast for quite some time now and then when we actually each other, how we're doing, I know our, our listeners. They may be thinking like man, they always saying they good, but or bless. But the reality is, even through our highs and our lows, we still got to give God the praise. We're blessed Because I always look at it like this and there's always someone that's that's in a I'm not going to say good grammar right now, but yeah, please excuse me, somebody isn't always worse sir Position, in a worse position than you are. So I always keep that in mind that you know, sometimes when you're driving, you see folks that are homeless. You go to the hospital, there's folks that's in agony and pain, excruciating pain, to the point that they want to die. Or when you pass by the cemetery, you're like man, like Lord. Why you kept me? You know you still give me some time to be with my family and even to serve you. So, yeah, so we, I'm thankful, I'm thankful, I'm blessed, and that's pretty much my attitude, just pretty much every day. Like I said, even through our highs and our lows. You know our low moments. That's the time when folks don't, they don't want to pursue God Most people, right, you know, I think about and that's when we must pursue the most. Yes, yes yes, that's the. That's the time we got to like run the God right, so I get it. I'm blessed, but I'm more, I'm excited about this episode. I know we discussed episode number one in this. Jesus episode number one. Jesus and prophecy episode number two. We discussed Jesus when he was a baby and when he was 12 years old. So now this episode we'll be talking about Jesus Christ ministry and this is powerful because Jesus Christ, yes, he has a ministry. We talk about an assignment I didn't even say assignment and this is like when God, when God call us, he call us to assignment and then this is yeah, this is what I like about this episode in particular. But first of all, before we get started, I want to thank each and every one of you guys for supporting the podcast Number one. I want to thank my Lord and my savior, jesus Christ, for giving Adia and I the strength and afforded to persevere, to continue doing this podcast, and we ask that all the supporters please continue to. Almost I'll be saying like. I want to say like, share and subscribe, but I keep forgetting that we don't have a YouTube channel. We have a YouTube channel.

Speaker 1:

YouTube comments. I'm speaking that into a different YouTube is coming, yeah.

Speaker 2:

We got a YouTube. We just haven't just been actively on there. That's what it is. But we just ask that you guys continue to share and subscribe and, if God so touch your heart, please support the podcast. Adi, don't you know that they could support the podcast just 99 cents a month, a dollar, that's all it takes $1 to support this podcast, because our aim and our goal is to have this podcast support itself, so we could continue bringing content and so we could focus on other kingdom, like things. So that's pretty much it. But, adia, I am ready. I am ready to dive right into Jesus Christ ministry and I think we can learn a lot from Jesus Christ ministry because we can help. It can help us to identify our assignment, because I know when most folks become Christians, this is where most people get stuck. They're like, okay, god, I'm a Christian, now, now, what Right? And so now? So now, reading about Jesus Christ ministry, I hope, trust them, pray, that they will help us to ignite something that's in us, so it can help us to identify our purpose. So so let's read. We're going to start off with Jesus Christ baptism. So Jesus Christ is an adult now. So, as I alluded to in episode two. He was 12 years old and the Bible is silent. So when a Bible is silent from age 12 to 30, we ain't saying that we only can speculate at this point. So now he's an adult, he's an adult and he's ready. He is ready at it. So he didn't begin his ministry until he got baptized. So we want to see the order of things. So I know I always ask you, what Bible are you reading today? Version.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so I'm going to be in both the message and the NLT and I'll probably go to the King James they're all three of them in front of me right now. So for the first part, where his with his baptism, I'm going to be reading from the NLT. And that's that's for Matthew, chapter number three, verse 13 through 17. And it reads then Jesus went from Galilee to the Jordan River to be baptized by John, but John tried to talk him out of it. I am the one who needs to be baptized by you, he said. So why are you coming to me? But Jesus said it should be done, for we must carry out all that God requires. So John agreed and baptized him. After his baptism, as Jesus came up out of the water, the heavens were open and the spirit, and he saw the spirit of God descending like a dove and settling on him, and a voice from heaven said this is my dearly loved son, who brings me great joy.

Speaker 2:

Amen, amen, amen. Thank you again for reading that. So it's, it's quite a few things that's going on in this, in this passage. So Jesus Christ is being baptized by John, and we know who John was. John was a relative of Jesus Christ. He was making way for the Messiah and, in fact, prior to Christ approaching John at the Jordan River, john was baptized in folks. So folks will get impricked in their heart. Not everybody was getting baptized. There was also speculators like taking a peek, like who, who this dude, who, this dude is right, who is do baptizing people? But there are also, you know, john was making a way here. You hear you, the kingdom of God is at hand and folks who are being baptized. You know, of course, and you know this is what we like. We like when a message is being preached, a message is being shared and proclaimed and folks are being obedient. So, jesus Christ, he got baptized. So in the Greek, the Greek baptism mean to immerse. So Jesus Christ, and it's the reason why I said that Jesus Christ got immersed into the water. It's the reason why I said that because Jesus Christ did not get sprinkled. No pun intended to all the Catholics. Jesus Christ did not get sprinkled, but Jesus Christ got dipped into the water, he got baptized. And verse number 16 of chapter three this is when you we see the Godhead. Right, most people will call it the Trinity, but it's the Godhead. When you see the father, so you hear the voice of the father, the son is present and then the Holy Spirit is descending as as a dove. And I like this because this is the only time where we see all the Godhead and scriptures working together like right there is right there, clear in our faces. You know. So, people that deny the Godhead, I mean it's clearly right there. You got God the father, god the father, god the son and God the Holy Spirit. God the father, you heard he, you know, as he mentioned, you hear his voice, the son is present and the dove is descending. But what I want to say about Christ's baptism? Again, I'm going to talk about Christ's baptism, but I know folks that got back. Well, most people that would say that baptism is not necessary, and there's people out there that be like, oh, you don't need to get baptized, you don't need to get baptized. But I came here to tell you that before Jesus Christ began his ministry, he got baptized. Jesus Christ could have just started his ministry without even getting baptized. But John was making the way, folks are getting baptized and Jesus Christ follows suit. So Jesus Christ got baptized by John. And I believe there's four reasons why he got baptized. One of the reasons we find in verse number 15, it says to fulfill all righteousness. So it says verse number. I'll read it, verse number 15. It said Jesus, answering, said unto him suffer it to be so now, for thus it become with us to fulfill all righteousness. Then he suffered him. So I believe that one of the reasons that Christ got baptized was to fulfill all righteousness. And number two, he got baptized for the sake of obedience. He obeyed the guidance, the word that John was proclaiming. And number three remember, he's 100% man and he's 100% God. So by being baptized, that's in a sense to acknowledge sin. So to him. So because, remember, jesus Christ is going to take the sins of the world when he go well, I don't want to be no spoiler alert because we're going to talk about that in episode four. So by him being baptized, it's for him to acknowledge sin. He identifies with sinners by being baptized Because, remember, we talked about in all the previous episodes how Jesus Christ. He identified with all kinds, maybe preteen, so he was a teenager, and now he's an adult. So in order for Jesus Christ to even identify as us, he need to go through some of the things that we will go through in his day, all the way until present and even in the future, so it helps us. So when it's time for us to get baptized, we got to be like, yeah, man, it's, and pretty much they talk about it. We're going to talk about that. I don't know, I don't know. And so, and also the fourth reason, I believe that Jesus Christ got baptized because he had to die to his old life. So, remember, he is 100% human flesh and 100% God. So he had to die to his old self and become new. So when he became new, now he's ready to fulfill the call or, like Addy will put it, the assignment. And I want to read this passage at it before we hear your take. It's in a second Corinthians, chapter five, verse 17. So the Bible says, therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things are passed away. Behold, all things are made become new. So he said behold, all things are become new. So Jesus Christ died to the old self, the younger him, the preteen, the teenager, and now he's becoming this new individual as an adult, to fulfill his God given assignment.

Speaker 1:

I love everything that you just shared, because sometimes we take for granted the importance of baptism and I want to speak to those who are contemplating baptism that they understand if Jesus had to do it. What makes you think you don't have to do it? Like the daddy came out of you know, opened up the sky and said this is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased. Or, as this scripture says, I'm going to say how the daddy said it here in the NLT this is my dearly loved son, who brings me great joy. So think about it this way Jesus did it. When you do it, what do you think your daddy is saying about you, his child who is now reconciled to him? When you go down in the watery grave of baptism because of your obedience to the word that was taught to you, whether it's you were in a worship service or a worship assembly or a Bible or Wednesday night Bible study or a one on one Bible study, and your heart is pricked and you're number one, you're hearing this gospel, this glorious word that brings life, and then you're meditating on this and you're repenting, and then you make this confession of Jesus Christ being the son of God. And then you get to the point where you say, hey, I'm ready, I'm ready to go down into this watery grave of baptism, and then you come out. Jesus didn't have to do that because Jesus again was sinless. But us, that is a part of the thing that we have to do. Except in Jesus, in your heart, is not scriptural y'all. I have to say that again, it is not scriptural. The Bible is our roadmap to life. If any man is telling you to, all you have to do is put your hands on a TV and accept Jesus into your heart. I need you to know right now. That is the biggest lie that you have been taught. That is an apostasy. That is not true. It is lies. That is not how you get into a relationship with Christ. I don't care how you feel, I don't care about your emotions. It is not a feeling thing. It is not an emotional thing. It is an obedience thing. Obedience you look at, was it first Samuel when Samuel said to Saul obedience is better than sacrifice? God is a God of obedience. If he's given you a command, you follow the command and you obey the command. He's not asking you to do all these different things. He ain't telling you to flip. He ain't telling you to do all this stuff. All he's saying is obey me. Jesus is the epitome of obedience, because Jesus knew when he went to John. John said hold up, wait a minute, I need to be baptized by you. Jesus said hold up, let's do what my daddy told us to do, because you already know what the assignment is. John stopped it right there and baptized him. As soon as he baptized him, the dove came down, the clouds opened up and we said all three of them together at one time, right here in this moment, god the Father, god the Son and God the Holy Spirit are all present together at Jesus' baptism. What do you think happens to you when you go down into the watery grave of baptism? All three are present. So if you're listening to a minister or a pastor or whomever, whatever denomination you're in, you need to start asking questions, because if they're not teaching baptism as an essential part of your salvation, just like I would tell somebody who's in a domestic violence relationship, you need to run. You need to run because they are doing you a disservice and it is a shame before God that God give us the greatest book of all time. It's written in different translations, different languages, and we're still here, beguiling people with what we think they need versus what God wants us to do. So I am so grateful that you shared that with us, brother Nick, because it shows that if Jesus had to be obedient to the Father, we too must be obedient to the Father.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that's well put. Let me say this I don't believe there's. So when Jesus Christ is getting baptized, there's no baptism Sunday, there's no class. You know how folks say oh yeah, you got to take a class to get baptized. There's no baptism Sunday and there's no class. You got John the baptizer he is baptizing folks the same day. He didn't say John didn't say well, he did try to tell Lord, wait, hold your horses, you need to be baptized with me. But he did not say, wait, you got to take a class. He did not proclaim and make way for Christ and say, wait, you need to take a class. And I was one of the individuals that you talked about that used to say the sinner's prayer. So they used to come out early in the morning, around 3, 4 o'clock in the morning, maybe 5 am, and then I was like a teenager, a young adult, and they used to come on in the middle in the morning and then the preachers, false prophets. The preachers would come on and say yeah, if you have sin in your heart, you have sin in your life. Just say this prayer, just repeat after me. And I used to be standing at the TV like that and I used to say the sinner's prayer. I used to say the sinner's prayer, but at the same time I knew that I wasn't right with God, because a sinner's prayer does not make you right with God. Being obedient to the gospel that's what makes you right with God, not a sinner's prayer. And so I thought that I could say the sinner's prayer and continue sinning, drinking, getting drunk and dating multiple women and cussing speaking French, every other word, speaking French and cussing people out. I thought I could say okay, at night I'm going to say my sinner's prayer, but during the day I'm going to just live my life how I want to live. It doesn't work like that. So I like how Jesus Christ is, that example for humanity. He is that example for us. So when we read these passages about Jesus Christ, people are like, wow, this is what Jesus Christ did. So I need to do the same thing. And that's what I did when I got baptized. So when I got baptized, many, many years ago, when I got into the body of Christ, I didn't know how to be a Christian, because when you don't know about church stuff right, church or Bible stuff you just don't know right. So what I did, I started reading the Gospels Matthew, mark, luke and John. So I said, okay, god, I don't have any Christian friends. I just got in the church, I just got baptized. I don't know what you have called me to do, I don't know what my assignment. So I said you know what I'm going to do. I'm going to read the Bible. But first I started off with Genesis, and Genesis kind of like, okay, this is the beginning. Then I went to revelations. I, like man, I don't understand this language. I'm just talking about the coming of Christ, the folks going to die, the seals, and that I said, look, it's confusing me. So what I did? I started off with the Gospels Matthew, mark and Luke and John, and what fascinated me about the Gospel was the walk of Jesus Christ and everything except for the miracles. I emulated. I said you know what, god? You show compassion to the people. I'm going to show compassion to the people. You proclaim, I'm going to proclaim. You go feed. Well, I couldn't feed 5,000 because, you know, brother Nick wasn't making that much money, so I couldn't feed no 5,000. I can feed the little bit I could feed. So I emulated, I did what he did according to the Gospel, and then, by reading the Word and by studying Christ, it helped me to be a better person as a Christian. So when people say, oh, I don't know what I'm called to, do, I don't know, or this and that, go back to the Gospels. Jesus Christ is the best example that one could follow.

Speaker 1:

If we're looking for mentors, the greatest mentor that ever existed is Jesus. We look to people for them, because we see them living this life and they're prosperous and all this stuff. I'm all for it. But I'll always remember the greatest mentor that ever lived and ever existed was Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ wasn't about his pockets. Jesus was about saving souls. Jesus was about redeeming man. Jesus was walking with the people. So, as you were talking and I was sharing with you this morning, I was. I was doing some reading on Christ and the Holy Spirit just opened this up to me. When the ark was built, the people, everywhere the people went, they had the ark with them. The ark represented the presence of God being with them. But when David said he wanted to build the temple and God said are you the one to build the temple? Your hands is filthy, like you shed blood. You can't build nothing for me, but your son Solomon will do it. When Solomon did it, what they did was they put him in the ark in the temple, and that's where the ark stays. So where is the presence of God with the people? It's in the temple, in their minds. They always had to go back in order to be in God's presence. Let's fast forward to Jesus's time here. Jesus comes down on earth. Now. The presence of God is with the people, because Jesus is both man and he is God. When we understand that we as Christians don't get to take our Christianity off and leave it at home and go into the world, we have to understand that the day we obey the gospel, the presence of God must go with us everywhere we go. This is the representation that we have to like. When you said you emulated Jesus, you read the gospels, and thank you for saying that, because I needed to hear that too, because it's like my desire is to go deeper and grow deeper and it's like, well, the only thing you can do is go to the mentor, jesus. You need to go into them. Gospels Matthew, mark Luke and John. By the way, matthew, mark, luke and John are still Old Testament gospels. I need y'all to understand that, because Jesus hadn't died yet. So anybody that says, oh, that's New Testament teaching no, y'all, that's still Old Testament, believe it or not, we get into the New Testament and the book of Acts, all right. So I just wanted to drop that little nugget right there. But to understand your walk, your journey and what you need to do, whether you're a non-believer and you don't understand. Start with Matthew. Start with the book of Matthew and see what Jesus did. If Jesus said the sentence prayers, by all means, okay, we concede. If Jesus didn't get baptized, by all means we concede. But if Jesus did not say the sentence prayer, he went down and was baptized and immersed. And guess what y'all? He didn't do it for the remission of sins. He did it to be obedient to the assignment that the Father has on him. We have to get baptized for the remission of sins because we are a bunch of sinners. Yes, adne is a sinner. Sometimes I fall short and I have to remember to go to God and say Lord, I repent. But that is the beauty of obeying the gospel and getting baptized is I have the opportunity to get on my knees and make it all ashy and cry out to my daddy and ask him to forgive me of my sins, asking Jesus into your heart. You don't have access to that and I have to be honest and say that I'm sorry you don't. Don't listen to nobody. Tell y'all that.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that was. That was some good stuff, but it's. It's a reason why we put a lot of emphasis in passion and baptism, because when Jesus Christ get baptized he is filled with the Holy Spirit. Remember, he's human, y'all. He's human, but also a hundred percent God, so he's filled with the Spirit. So you remember, adne, I said that Jesus Christ did not start his ministry until he got baptized. But watch what happened next after baptism. So I want you to read Matthew, chapter 4, verse 1, and then we gonna fast forward. We gonna, because we gotta move, we gotta move, we gotta move. So we're gonna move to when Jesus Christ went to the wilderness. But first I want to talk about Matthews, chapter 4, verse 1. You can read that and we'll touch on 4, 11.

Speaker 1:

Matthew, chapter 4, verse 1. I'm in the message Bible. It says next Jesus was taken into the, into the wild, by the Spirit for the test.

Speaker 2:

The devil was ready to give it? What version Bible is that?

Speaker 1:

That's the message Bible.

Speaker 2:

Oh the message Bible.

Speaker 1:

It says the devil was ready to give it.

Speaker 2:

Wow, like I didn't go in a war, right, like, like that's gonna be a all out all out, drag out all out. So my Bible says King James Virgil said then then was Jesus led up of the Spirit in the wilderness to be tempted of the devil, in other words to be tried to be tested. So when we talk about tempted it means to entice. So Jesus Christ is in the wilderness in his weeks. I mean he's gonna be fasting for 40 days and 40 nights and when you fast, the fastest indication that you're, you're are suppressing, denying the flesh. Because we know, because we know when, when a person fast, they're more inclined in the spirit, but the flesh is saying otherwise. So the devil gonna try him in those areas. The devil gonna try him in the areas that, that what he gonna try, many areas that what the flesh desires. Because we know the flesh, old enough, had desires, as you said earlier at you. You said you, far short of God glory, I, I sent in for a short of God God's glory, because yet, although we have the Holy Spirit, we still have flesh and they're constantly worn against each other. Right? So the Bible helped us to understand that it was the spirit of God that led him in the wilderness. See, this is see when you have the Holy Spirit. We got to go to foreign territory. We got to go to certain territory only by by God's command. Now, when I talk about if you weak and you struggling some, and then the spirit won't lead you down, the spirit won't lead you down, the spirit will lead you into a foreign territory to be tried and to be tested, but remember, jesus Christ gonna have the victory, because Christ gonna help us to understand that we have victory, that we could conquer all things through him. So because if he did it, you know the servant is not greater than his master. So, even well, whatever that Jesus Christ gonna go through, or even went through, even we're gonna go through it, right, as Christians. So, adne, so verse number not let me not go to first, unfortunately, let's talk about when Jesus Christ was in the wilderness. So, jesus Christ, yeah, we, we gonna talk about the three temptations. Right, you want to read it before we we talk okay.

Speaker 1:

It says Jesus prepared for the test by fasting 40 days and 40 nights. That left him, of course, in the state of extreme hunger which the devil took advantage of in the first test. Since you are God's son, speak the words that will turn these stones into loaves of bread. Jesus answered by quoting Deuteronomy. It takes more than bread to stay alive. It takes a steady stream of word from God's mouth. Who that's powerful? Which means it is written man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeded out of the mouth of God you done.

Speaker 2:

Can I go?

Speaker 1:

you want me to continue?

Speaker 2:

yeah, talk about all the tests. Yeah, read all the tests okay, test number two.

Speaker 1:

For the second test, the devil took him to the holy city. He sat him on the top of the temple and said since you are God's son, jump. The devil goaded him by by quoting Psalms 91 Lord, have mercy. He has placed you in the care of angels. They will catch you so that you won't, so that you won't so much as stub your toe on a stone. Jesus countered with another citation from Deuteronomy don't you dare test the Lord, your God. For the third test, the devil took him to to the peak of a huge mountain and he gestured expansively, pointing out all the earth's kingdoms, how glorious they all were. Then he said they're yours. Look sorry, lock, stock and barrel. Just go down on your knees and worship me, and they're yours. Jesus was fusel, was court, beat it Satan back. And he backed it with the rebukes, with the third quotation from Deuteronomy worship the Lord, your God, and only him. Serve him with absolute, single heartedness. The test was over. The devil left and in his place, angels. Angels came and took care of Jesus's needs wow, so.

Speaker 2:

So let me, let me let me back back up a little bit and talk about the temptations. Right, we know the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye and the pride of life. So those were the areas that Jesus Christ got tried in, and I would say a preacher would say that Jesus Christ was tested in provision. So, remember, the enemy told him to turn these stones into the bread. So provision, if I would give three P's provision, protection and power. So provision he told the stones to. You know, he told the stones, he turned the stones into bread. Protection he quoted what Psalms 91 like hey, god gonna protect you. So, in other words, so let me talk about this protection part. I was in a Bible study a while back and then I had some. I had some revelation what God has revealed to me when the preacher was talking about when the enemy told Jesus Christ to jump. He told Jesus Christ to jump, saying I don't worry, you know God gonna send his angels and they know how I'm gonna come against you immediately. You know what I thought about when the preacher said that the suicide the devil wanted Jesus to commit suicide and I thought about those individuals that's going through it mentally and and they going through really demonic attacks, that's demonic attack. And then they're on like on a high building or bridge or whatever the case may be, and they just they got a gun, yeah, or a gun to their head. They just want to end their life. So we know that the devil it is man. Let me tell you something that let me so can we know that God is all about life. When we talk about it's the devil that comes to kill, still in destroy. So the devil I said this in previous episode that the devil come the cause. Having the enemy, the devil, satan wanted Jesus to commit suicide. So, and on top of that, he took Jesus Christ on a pinnacle. He said look at all these kingdoms. You could imagine I'll give you power. Like you, you could rule over all these kingdom. And let me tell you something all these things that Jesus Christ got tried on, I mean, this is, this is what man desires. You talk about a provision. Of course, folks. Folks want to be able to provide and have the necessities of life and they don't want even to have any any worry, or whatever the case may be. Power, you know, power, lust of the flesh, right, our flesh have desires, the lust of the eye, the things that we see, that we sold enough, desire in a pride of life, you know, and that's what get humanity in trouble. So when we, when, when men, when men, so it feel like, oh you know, I'm all powerful, prideful, I got a lot of money, all those are a sign of a person on a verge of going down a hill with God, because we know it's the enemy that put things on a silver platter. It looks good, but it's not of God. It's like if a sister said, oh God, send me a godly man, that's what them sisters be saying. Brothers be saying that to sister, send me a god gave. You say God, send me a godly man. But what the enemy does before God send that godly man, you remember Abraham, ishmael and where he had, you know, hagar. So what, the debt, what the devil do? He'll put a ungodly man on a silver platter and he'll dress up, dressed up, dress. Let me tell you something before I got married, I guess I got use my example right instead of using sisters and brothers before. So when God have put in my spirit to get married. Like God said okay, brother, nick, is your turn, it's your turn, you need to help me. You can't be doing ministry by yourself, you need to help me right. And then I started praying at me and I started fasting for a wife and then, and the midst of me fasting and praying, it was this girl that I met. This girl and I had everything in common. I already had who in mind that I really wanted to marry. I mean, you know, I had the person in mind, but that, but the. It was this woman that came kind of like out of the blue. This woman and I had everything in common, like, except for spiritual beliefs, except for our spiritual beliefs. We shared the same birthday, certain earthly things that I like she liked. I was like you got same color that I, like she liked. I was like you got to be kidding me. I said, if it wasn't for, and in my car, in my mind, if it wasn't for a man, you, you'll be the perfect wife for me. But, of course, through my discernment and through fasting and prayer, I say uh-uh. I say I know what the enemy is trying to do. Uh-uh, this person is not for me, this person is not for me. God already has my wife awaiting for me. So I like how the Bible pointed out that when Jesus got tried in this, these issues, he still had the victory. He conquered all those areas.

Speaker 1:

So, holy Spirit, thank you. There was someone that was tried with the same thing and they fail. Who was it? Our mother, eve. She was tested with lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and the pride of life, and she brought death into the world. And here it is, our Lord and Savior. Jesus is tried with lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and the pride of life, and he's victorious. It's like God literally said y'all failed at this, but I'm going to be victorious in the same thing, right? That just was so profound to me, like, and that's why I said thank you, holy Spirit, because as you were talking and I read it and I said hold up, eve failed at this and brought death into the world. Jesus is victorious at this and he's bringing life into the world. So we have to understand, as children of God, if we truly desire to walk in victory, we must be like Jesus and say it is written yes, I am a single woman. March of next year I'm going to be 45. Never married Baby mama twice, around two different baby daddies. I do desire to someday be a wife, something that the Lord has literally been laying on my heart. But the one thing the Lord is showing me is wait on me, wait on me. I don't know how to choose, and because I don't know how to choose, I am choosing to allow my father to guide my heart to where he needs me to be the healing that I need to go down on right, the stuff that I need to purge out of me to become that person that God needs me to be for his son, because his son is on an assignment and I need to fit in that assignment. But if there are things inside of me that I have not shed, I can't walk in the assignment with him. I'm not prepared. I'm sharing this because Jesus went into the wilderness to be prepared for the ministry. If Jesus felt that any of what was brought to him, we would not be where we are today, right? So, like Jesus, we all have to go through our wilderness moments and there's some shedding that has to take place, and that's the shedding of the flesh, understanding and realizing. As much as you desire a godly husband, sometimes you need to become the godly wife before you can get the godly husband, and that means saying no to the potentials that are coming your way. Don't be in a state of loneliness and operating that state of loneliness, that the first person that comes your way you say yes to like that bread. You turn it like that stone. You turn it into bread because you know what it's cuffing season. Yes, it's cuffing season. It's cold outside, it's about 30 something degrees, right, or you know you want that protection. So now, here it is, you're committing spiritual suicide because you're allowing this person in your space, or you want that power because this person has a great position. And here it is, you're falling down and worshiping this person and God is like wow, you don't even know the blessing that I have for you, but because you allowed the enemy to creep in, you've fallen and now I've got to start this whole process over with you until you understand that you need to say the words. It is written, it is written, it is written. My protection, my provision and my power comes from God, not from what I possess, whether it's a relationship, whether it's a job. Everything you have, it comes from God and that's what the Holy Spirit revealed to me as you were. Talking was like Eve failed, but Jesus was victorious and we have the victory in Jesus.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, thank you. Thank you for sharing that and I'm glad that we stayed on baptism and even Jesus Christ in the wilderness, because here in verse number 11 of same chapter, chapter 4, it says and what I like about Matthew, chapter 4, and I would never forget this what this brother told me when I was in New Conferred and I got to share it because I know he might be listening I was getting beat down by the devil. I'm talking about spiritually beat down folks. That's not spiritual, not going to understand what I'm talking about. When I first got baptized I mean hell, and can I say hell A lot of stuff was going on in my world You're talking about family issues, issues at work, issues in the community and I was like I said what in the world? I said this has never happened. I said, hold up, how come? When I was like in the world club and doing all kind of crazy stuff, this stuff didn't happen to me. But now I decide I want to do something good and give my life to the Lord and all this crazy stuff that's happening to me, it just didn't make sense to me. But at the same time, my best friend and I was getting the same type of treatment because he got saved. So he was getting. You know how you read that first verse. You're like man say it, look like he going to war with Jesus. They're about to go throw some hands. Right, satan was throwing some hands at your brother in Christ and he was throwing some hands at my best friend. So I would never forget when my friend, he called me. I don't know if it was that morning, I'm just saying that day he called me. He said hey, bro, I know how we can defeat Satan. I said what you mean, how we can defeat Satan. He said well, according to the word, we got to use the word against Satan. And he took me to Matthew, chapter four, and I started reading Matthew chapter four, how Jesus Christ was in the wilderness and how every, yeah, satan, what he does, he Satan manipulates the word, he dilutes the word. He don't give you the truth, the whole truth. You know what I did. You don't give me the whole truth, not by the truth. He don't give you the whole truth. He gives you some of the truth, but technically it's a lie. If you give some of the truth, it's a lie, right, but the God was giving them the word Jesus Christ. Every word that Satan threw at Jesus, jesus Christ will give him the word. And then my best friend is like that's how we defeat Satan. We defeat Satan by utilizing God's word. And from that day forward. So I bought, I buy a bulletin. At the time I had like my own little room and living with my parents. I bought like this bulletin that I put on the wall. And then when I started to do it, I started to write scriptures, every scripture that I would read throughout the gospel. I would write it and I would put it on my bulletin. And I had I must have had like over 50 scriptures on that bulletin and I would memorize those scriptures. So every time that I would step outside my house I would communicate with individuals and things that I deemed that was of the enemy, I would use the word. I use the word so much At the time when I was single. I used the word so much when I was in college. Women is like man, this dude don't talk to us. Well, he kind of gay or something. He don't want to talk to us. And I was just using the word because I knew it was the enemy that was bringing those accusations to give me. I'm married to a woman, a Godly woman, but I'm saying that that's why what we just read, kind of like what I just said earlier, like how I emulated Christ, my friend, that was revealed to him and he shared that with me. So I'm saying that to say this because a child of God may be going through it right now. Anyway, I know we're just talking, but whoever's listening to this episode or even watching it via social media, they may say like wow, I never thought about that, I never thought about utilizing the word against Satan, and it worked and it still works to this day. And I like how they said that the angels came down and ministered to him. Go ahead.

Speaker 1:

And I'm saying this because the word of God is alive and it's active, but it's alive and it's active. To a person that understands that the word of God is alive and active. I listen and shout out to Orpheus J Hayward. His mentor, dr W F Washington, had him memorizing scriptures. Now, as you said that it was for other purposes and means, but I think it was a beautiful thing, because when the enemy comes for you, because you already have that word inside of you, you already know what scripture will go for what. When the enemy attacks, because you've already memorized it, jesus knew Deuteronomy. It is written man shall not live by bread alone. When the enemy comes for you, or there's a thought that comes to your mind that's very lustful. Guess what? For me, it is Romans 12, 1,. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your body as a living sacrifice only an acceptable to God which is your reasonable service. I am a living sacrifice. Get thee behind me, satan but I'm so serious, because those are the things that we have to understand. You can't fight Satan with a carnal mind. You can't fight Satan with flesh you have to fight Satan with spirit. The word of God is the only thing that defeats the enemy period. And I pray for even our brothers and sisters in Christ who are on this verge of oh. No, that's not what the word means. That's not what it means. God says what he says and he means what he says. He's not a shifting, he's not a shifting sand. He's firm foundation. You stand on the word of God and that's it. There is no other foundation that you need to stand on If you are a child of God. The word, the word, the word he is not the great I used to could. He is the great I am. That is, I'm always going to say, prophet Steve Hemfield. But, minister Steve Hemfield, he always says that whenever I listen to him, God is not the great I used to could. He is the great I am. So when it comes to the word, you just have to. That's the only way we defeat Satan is through his word, the word of God. It is alive and it's active. It's sharper than any two-edged sword. Let it cut you. And as I'm talking, I'm talking to me, so don't think that I'm throwing shade at you. I'm talking to me as well, because it's the only way that we're going to walk this journey in victory. Because, guess what? We already have the victory. We just need to activate it and act like we have the victory.

Speaker 2:

Yeah. So we're about to talk about Jesus Christ's ministry. So we talked about Jesus Christ's baptism and the spirit led him into the wilderness. We're going to close it out when Jesus Christ is actually fulfilled his ministry. Now, jesus Christ did a whole lot. Now it's so many that he did so much that we have very little time to unpack it. It'll take us a lifetime A lifetime it's not going to take a one hour or two hour podcast to discuss the things that our Savior did while he was here on earth. So we're going to try the best that we could. It's very hard to condense it, but we're going to do our best. But what I do want to say according to Matthews, chapter 4, verse 23, the Bible records and Jesus went about all of Galilee teaching in their synagogues and preaching the gospel of the kingdom. So Jesus Christ was preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. So when Jesus Christ, after the wilderness, he was proclaiming the kingdom, he was healing. So, in other words, when Jesus Christ was healing, he was healing the blind, the sick, the lame, the demon possessed, and Jesus Christ was performing miracles. In addition to that, he was proclaiming the kingdom, he was telling folks that they need to repent. He was teaching. He was a teacher. He taught the Beatitudes and that's what we find in the following chapter, matthew, chapter 5. And following the Beatitudes, he talked about the law, christ. So that's what the Beatitudes talks about. That talks about the law, relationship with God and relationship with others. So, christ, he was doing so much that I don't even know what to begin in terms of ministry. But what I can say is that what I enjoyed about Jesus Christ's ministry while he was on earth because this, the Bible, is a history book Jesus was on earth. That's the part that gets to me when I sit down and I ponder and I meditate on it. I'm like, wow, god, you were here. Over 2,000 years ago, you were here. And it's hard for me to really convey what's one of my favorite parts of Jesus Christ's ministry. But what I do want to add is something that he said in the Beatitudes and again, like I said, maybe Adne could share her thoughts on his ministry or some of the things that he did that she enjoyed. But he did so much for the people and also he taught them a lot. But it's one particular scripture that I stick by and I hold on to and that's near and dear to my heart. And again, this is Jesus Christ's sermon. That's what I say Beatitudes. That's when Jesus Christ had a sermon on the Mount. He was sharing wise words with the people. So Matthew, chapter 6, verse 33, says when Jesus this is Jesus saying he said but seek he first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all things shall be added unto you. So that was one of his sermons where he was telling the folks that he didn't want them to be worrisome, he don't want them to be anxious, because he was saying I provide clothing for the grass, I provide food for the birds, and I do all of this stuff for things that's not humans. I provide for things that's not even humans. But he said for you, you are a part of me, for we know we are all created in the image of God. So he said what more? I would do all these things for you. But he said but first he said you need to seek ye first the kingdom of God and my righteousness. In other words, in his righteousness, not my, his righteousness. And he says all things. He said anything that you so desire he will add it into your life. And I stick to that saying because I got alluded to. Jesus Christ did so many wonderful works. Even the Bible says that there's so many things that he did that even the books couldn't even contain the things that he did. So for me to give you a list of, one by one, bullet points, of everything that Jesus Christ did, it'll take me years, if not decades, to talk about even one. So that's my take on Jesus Christ ministry in, and you could say what you need to say and I'll say what I need to say.

Speaker 1:

I want to read what you just said, but I'm going to read it in the message and I'm going to start at 30. It says if God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers, most of which are never even seen, don't you think he'll attend to you? Take pride in you. Do his best for you. What I'm trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God's giving. People who don't know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Step your life in God's reality, god's initiative, god's provision. Don't worry about missing out. You'll find all your everyday human concerns will be met when we seek the kingdom of God first, everything. God already has it under control. For me, jesus' ministry I must speak in a woman's perspective is that in biblical times women were outcast, but with Jesus they had a voice. With Jesus they were somebody. With Jesus they were able to shoot their shot. In the words of our sermon on Sunday, when the woman with the issue of blood, who was an outcast because she had an issue of blood, where she was not supposed to be around people, but because she knew where her healing would come from. She risked death in order for her to get life With Jesus. I have that capability as a woman to touch the hymn of his garment to be made whole. I can be healed of demon infestation because Jesus loves me that much. I may have a bank account that's overdrawn, but I'm not worried because I know the provisions will come. My rent is about to go up, but guess what? By $52,. Jesus is going to give me the strength and the fortitude in mind to know that if I continue to seek him first, I won't even feel the extra $52 that's added on my rent. What else If I understand who he is? As a woman, I am not a second class citizen. I sit at the feet of my Lord and Savior and I am somebody. That's what I appreciate about Jesus' ministry is that women who were downtrodden and looked at as nobodies became somebody. The woman who anointed him with the perfume, like crying and washing his feet when everybody was talking about her. Jesus said hold up, wait a minute. I came into your house. This is what you're supposed to be doing for me, but this woman right here, she has not ceased to cry and wash my feet and guess what? She used the most expensive perfume to anoint them at that. And wherever the gospel is taught, this woman shall be talked about. We women, because of Jesus, we have a voice. Now the question is will we use our voices to bring him glory, or will we use our voices to bring shame to him? So that's what I appreciate about Jesus' ministry. I had to share that for y'all, sisters, so y'all can understand the power that you have when you tap into Jesus. You ain't gotta push, you ain't gotta fuss, you ain't gotta cuss. Jesus got you.

Speaker 2:

But this is what I wanna say. So great points, adne, great points. But Jesus Christ did not begin this ministry alone. We know that he's 100% man and he's 100% God. Jesus Christ had 12 disciples. Okay, and it's important, because, yeah, jesus Christ was around sinners. He was around tax collectors. Not a lot of people was in agreement with the message that Jesus Christ had to convey and share with the people in that day. But I believe to some degree we can be around sinners if you have a mission in mind, because it's only two things could happen, because we know bad company corrupts good manner, right, if your motive is not to change them, to help them to see the glory of God, then you don't need to be around them, or otherwise they gonna change you. They gonna change you and you gonna find yourself like why am I not praying anymore? Why I don't feel the need to read my word anymore? Why am I gossiping? Why am I complaining? Well, it's the company you keep. So even Jesus Christ had 12 disciples and I wanted to share that because I want people to understand the importance of community. No, you cannot do a ministry by yourself. Not for a long time. Maybe, if God have you, for a season, a day or two in isolation, to consecrate, to talk to him. I get it. But no, you cannot start a ministry by yourself. You need a community. And even Elijah in the book of Kings, when Elijah was in the cave, elijah was complaining to God. He told God take his life and all this. He's in a dark cave and you know what, when God deliver him out of that state, god actually blessed him with Elijah. God blessed him with somebody and then God took him home. God didn't even care. God said you're not gonna commit suicide. No, I'm not gonna take your life, I'm just gonna take you. So the reality is we need others in our lives, because we know that two that's what the book of Ecclesiastes says is that two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor, for if they fall, the one will lift them up, his fellow, brother or fellow. But woe to him that is alone when he falleth, or he hath not another to help him up. So even the Bible says that it's better to have two, because two is better than one. You always need somebody that's gonna encourage you, because this walk, this purpose, this assignment is heavy. Moses had Aaron right. Moses had Aaron, jesus had the 12. David had Jonathan, and I could go on and on, on and on. For the servants that had the twos. And even when Jesus Christ is a disciple, so he had 12 disciples, which is an even number. Jesus Christ sent the disciples out in twos. He sent them out in twos. So we need people that are Christ-like or like-minded. We need to be surrounded by those group of people to help us in our assignment, to help us to fulfill what God has called us to do. So that's why I like what Jesus Christ did. He showed us that he has a community 12, and he's fulfilling his God-given duties. And again, like I said, not a lot of people is happy with that. So there's even the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ that we preach or talk in this present day. Not a lot of people is gonna approve of the death, the resurrection of Jesus Christ. But guess what? That's okay. We still have love for God and we still have love for you and hopefully, in due season that God will reveal to them the revelation of the goodness, of the glory of God in due season. But until then, we will continue preaching the same message. We will continue sharing the same message. And Jesus Christ showed consistency. Jesus Christ was consistent. Jesus Christ's message did not change. He was proclaiming the kingdom, he was showing compassion to the people and I like that word, compassion because, as Christian, that's what God call us to do. It's to show compassion to the saved and the lost. And there's time that Jesus Christ, he got upset too. He done flipped the table. He done. Jesus Christ, you know cause. The Bible do say you be angry, but sin not, because that's our human emotions. We have emotions, we're not robots. So you can get upset and be angry, but don't sin as a result of your anger. If you need to go on the sideline and put our ice on your head and cool down a little bit, by all means do it, but it shows that's our human self. We're not perfect, especially us, you know. Christ was God, but we, as humans, we're not perfect, but we're striving. We're striving. We're going to sin and fall short, as you mentioned at the top of the show, adne. We all sin and fall short of God's glory, but we need the Holy Spirit, we need the Comforter to guide us and to help us, and that's what Christ told his disciples in Adne. I'm going to send a Comforter, and that was in John, chapter number 14. The Comforter it convicts, it guides us, it teaches us and that's what helped us to fulfill the God given assignment that God has given us. That's why, when we read, when Jesus Christ got baptized, the Spirit led him into the wilderness. Now that he had the Spirit, now he could fulfill what he was called to do.

Speaker 1:

In closing, let's take it back to Genesis. Even God himself said it's not good for man to be alone. A lot of time we attribute that to marriage. But it's not just marriage, it's friendships, it's purpose and mission partners. It's not always going to be the person that you marry. It's going to be that partner that you have in business. You may say I could run this business by myself, but you need an accountant, you need a person. That's this. If you're starting a nonprofit organization, you need members on your board. You got to make sure all of that is in alignment in order for you to get what you need for the assignment to progress forward. In the church we ask oh, I have Jesus, but I don't need the members. Iron sharpens iron. If I lose one of my fingers, I will feel incomplete. If I lose a toe, I will feel incomplete. If I lose an eye, I will feel incomplete. So I want people to understand a relationship with God means a relationship with God's people. We can't pick and choose. We cannot sit here and say I'm antisocial, I don't like people. Then you don't love God, because God is the God of the people. You cannot operate in that spirit. That is demonic, that is of the devil, because if you say, oh, I want God but I don't want his people, you need to check your heart. That's satanic, because only Satan wants to isolate. God wants to get you into a space of being out there to speak to people and share his word and for them to sharpen you as well. Don't walk this journey by yourself. Yes, jesus had 12, but he had three confidants, three that knew the secrets of the things that had. When Jesus was transfigured, it was James, john and Peter that were there. When he did certain things with JRS' daughter, he took James John and Peter with him. They saw the intimate parts of him. I'm not saying for you to open up to everybody. You're gonna have your intimate friends, but you must understand this journey was never meant to be walked alone. You need your brothers and sisters in Christ. Get your three, or even your four, that you know you can be intimate with what I had to learn to do. I prayed and I said, father, I don't know how to choose. I need you to choose my friends. I need you to choose the people that you want me to grow close to and I need you to choose my spouse. He hasn't chosen my spouse. Yet he might have and we just. You know he's preparing us for each other, but my father has not failed me yet. Nick's wife is like my eighth, like my eighth, boom cool, like when I'm going through it, when she going through it. We call each other, we sharpen each other. There are other sisters that you know he's brought into my life. These are all him. Don't neglect being in relationship with your brothers and sisters in Christ. We need each other.

Speaker 2:

Amen, that's a mic drop right there, mic drop, and I think that's about it. So, okay, so that's it. We're gonna close out on and we're gonna. I could talk about Jesus Christ ministry all day, but again it's just talking about Jesus Christ ministry. He did so much. He did so much and so much that we as people could learn from. I like the thought that. I like what you said, adi. Like you know, we, we gotta show love to people and even love and a compassion that Christ showed towards people, cause, remember, we all created in the image of God. Like you said, we can't hate people, we can't dislike people, cause God created, he created man from the dust, he created, he created us in his image and so hating another person or disliking somebody else, it's like saying that you hate God. I can you say you love God, that you haven't seen. You hate your brother, that you do see, right. So it's that saying in the Bible. But I'm gonna just close it out with that, adi. Touch on some good points. Pray for your friends, pray for somebody, pray that God send you somebody, that God, like that's gonna help you. That and, like Adi said, it may not be a spouse, it could be a friend. And brothers, brothers, brothers, don't take advantage of sisters, don't, cause I know, I know, you know, cause I know the enemy too could disguise himself. He could disguise himself as an angel of light, you know, and it could go both ways. Sisters don't don't deceive brothers, and brothers Don't deceive sisters. It go both ways. All right world. I think that's it, adi. Remember that, jesus Christ, he's the king of kings and he's the Lord of lords. Please stay tuned for part four. That's the finale. The finale is going to be good. I can't wait.
