Leah is seen by God and He open her womb
- Reuben (Look a son; he has seen my misery)

- Levi (being attached or feeling affection for)
- Judah (praise)
- Leah understood that God is the one who truly loved her
Rachel is barren and begs Jacob for children
- Rachel never looked to God for children, but she went to her husband
- She is rebuked by her husband and sends her to God
- Rachel gives Bilhah to Jacob to have children on her behalf
